Kansas City Chiefs star running back, Kareem Hunt has been completely removed from the NFL and the virtual NFL too, because EA Sports said the running back is being eliminated from the Madden 19 video game. The publisher Electronic Arts confirmed to Polygon on Tuesday.

Madden NFL 19 is phasing out Kareem Hunt. After TMZ posted a video of the former Kansas City Chiefs running back assaulting a woman, Hunt was quickly dropped by his team. Now EA Sports is removing the digital version of Hunt from the latest Madden games. Hunt is being removed from the main game, the mobile game Madden Overdrive and the card-based Ultimate Team mode.

"We are in the process of removing Kareem Hunt from the Madden NFL 19 roster, Madden Overdrive, and Madden Ultimate Team," an EA Sports representative told TMZ.

Anyone who has Hunt on their ultimate team list will receive an alternative player who has the same statistics.

Removing players from Madden is not unprecedented. EA also wiped Aaron Hernandez and Ray Rice from Madden after their own assault charges emerged. Rice was removed after video emerged of him punching his then-fiancee, while Hernandez was dropped after he was charged with murder.

TMZ released a video on last Friday showing Hunter assaulting a woman in a hotel in February. After the video appeared, the Chiefs removed Hunt from their roster and no team has picked him up.

EA Sports also found itself in the midst of controversy this year, when the rape investigation of FIFA 19 cover star Cristiano Ronaldo was reopened.

Now, Hunt is hoping people will forgive him. We sincerely hope that this kind of things will no longer happening to other EA Sports players. Then we can safely buy mut 19 coins and play Madden 19 video game.
