Arizona Cardinals fans will hope reality is superior than the virtual planet when their group takes on the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. In our weekly Madden 17 simulation, the Panthers rolled to a 26-13 win behind 168 total yards from Jonathan Stewart and two Cam Newton touchdown passes to Greg Olsen.

The return of Jonathan Stewart was almost everything for Carolina. He rushed for 110 yards on 23 carries and caught 4 passes for 58 yards. Cam Newton rushed for 52 yards of his own and the Cardinals have been unable to stop the Panthers offense, whilst their passing game was ineffective till late inside the game.

Right after forcing a Panthers punt to start the game, the Cardinals got around the board with a 44-yard Chandler Catanzaro field purpose. Carolina marched down the field, but a Kevin Minter sack on third down forced the Panthers to settle for any 50-yard field goal to tie the game.

Carolina added a second field target on their subsequent drive, despite two sacks by Calais Campbell.

The teams punted back and forth till late within the first half when the Panthers got their first of two touchdown connections from Cam Newton to Greg Olsen.

Carson Palmer was intercepted two plays in to the second half and also the Panthers added one more Olsen touchdown to pull ahead 20-3.

Just after yet another field goal by Carolina, the Cardinals passing game ultimately began clicking. Carson Palmer found Larry Fitzgerald to get a four-yard touchdown and then, immediately after Corey Peters forced and recovered a fumble, Catanzaro added a 46-yard kick to pull inside 23-13.

But the Cardinals defense couldn't get off the field plus the Panthers added another field purpose to produce the score 26-13.

Arizona got down inside the five-yard line, but turned the ball more than on downs and that was that.

Arizona falls 26-13.

Carson Palmer was 21/39 for 209 yards, a touchdown and 1 interception. David Johnson rushed 22 times for 100 yards, though Larry Fitzgerald caught six passes for 94 yards. John Brown added six of his personal for 56 yards.

Calais Campbell had himself a game with 4 sacks of Cam Newton.

Newton was 15/22 for 162 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 52 yards.

On defense, Thomas Davis caused challenges, knocking away 4 various passes.
